Dear students and faculty and staff colleagues,

The worst storm of this season brought out the best in the Northeastern community.

As people throughout New England took shelter in their homes, hundreds of members of the Northeastern family braved dangerous conditions to keep our campus operating, safe, and nourished. Snow removal teams worked around the clock, facilities crews and public safety officers helped manage the response, and dining services staff stayed overnight to supply meals.

I extend my deep thanks and appreciation to everyone whose efficiency, hard work, and community spirit allowed us to weather the blizzard in safety.

This week’s events showed us—once again—the wonderful attributes of the dedicated women and men of our staff. As you go about your business, I hope you’ll take the opportunity to thank them for taking such excellent care of us during the storm—and every day.
