To members of the Northeastern community:

Once in a generation, history is made in the life of a university. Today we mark one of those moments. Later this morning, the university will announce that two of our alumni leaders have joined forces to make a $60 million gift to Northeastern—the largest philanthropic investment in our history.

These two leaders, Richard D’Amore, BA’76, and Alan McKim, MBA’88, will allow us to name our College of Business Administration, which will now be known as the D’Amore-McKim School of Business.

This unprecedented gift comes at a time of remarkable momentum for both the university and the school of business. It will enhance and expand our signature approach to business education—innovation and entrepreneurship on a global stage. The impact of this gift will be felt in perpetuity and across every dimension of the business school: education, research, global partnerships, and possibilities we cannot even imagine today.

The gift will also serve as a catalyst within our community. Through their generosity, Rich and Alan have set a new standard of philanthropy at Northeastern—and this will inspire others to do the same. Their investment will provide the cornerstone of a comprehensive campaign that will strengthen our university for generations to come.

Rich and Alan are shining examples for today’s students. Each of them embodies the fundamental character of Northeastern—innovative, entrepreneurial, and enriched by world experience.

Please join me in thanking Rich and Alan for this magnificent and powerful act. All of us in the Northeastern family share in the pride they have made possible.

You are invited to celebrate their permanent legacy on Friday Sept. 28 at noon at Northeastern. Please view this video invitation for further details about this landmark celebration.

Sincerely,

Joseph E. Aoun
